With his new album RECIPROCITY, Olivier Le Goas realises a longstanding dream. With Kevin Hays on the piano, Nir Felder on the guitar and Phil Donkin on the bass, he surrounds himself with internationally recognized partners and makes with them a quartet, which transcribes perfectly his compositions.

The drummer Olivier Le Goas composes all his songs with a piano, even though he never inserted this instrument in his productions so far. For the first time, he embeds it in his new compositions through the sensitive play of Kevin Hays. Together with his quartet, he makes RECIPROCITY something very special and unique.

Olivier Le Goas composes with musicality, lyricism skills and a passion for detail. He gives to the musicians a real space of freedom, enabling them to grow and to progress with grace throughout the songs. A melodic album in which Olivier Le Goas plays delicately with the contrasts between groove, blues and folk.

Olivier Le Goas begins to play the drums with 13 years old. In 1987, he obtains the first price at the Agostini’s drum school of Paris and wins in 1988 the 2nd orchester prize at the national jazz contest of Paris La Défense with his trio. Olivier Le Goas works with many musicians such as Marc Ducret, Bojan Z, Julien Lourau, Vincent Segal, Médéric Collignon, Avishai Cohen (trp)…

In 1995 he meets Kenny Wheeler and records with him an album. In 2005, he records his first album as a leader with John Abercrombie, Drew Gress and Ralph Alessi and collaborates with many jazz masters.
