Summary

Aficionados will know Christian Meyers as one of Germany’s most highly-respected trumpeters. In his elegant ensemble ‘Meyers Nachtcafé’, the Berlin-based artist brings together musicians from the Stuttgart music scene: Martin Johnson (Rhodes), Rüdiger Nass (Guitar), Alex Uhl (Bass) and Eckhard Stromer (Drums). Following the example of Roy Hargrove’s Band ‘RH Factor’, Meyers Nachtcafé combines elements of jazz, funk, hip-hop and soul. The music gets straight to your soul and is interspersed by lounge-like ballads, in which Christian Meyers coaxes wonderfully floating, deeply melancholic sounds from his Flugelhorn. Meyers Nachtcafé is a band which is a real pleasure to hear, especially when performing live, because the energy of cooperation and interplay gets to your very core.

Master of sound and recording engineer, Johannes Wohlleben, who previously recorded two of Christian Meyers’ CD productions for the Neuklang label, was once again responsible for this live recording. The enjoyable evening concert was recorded live in pure analogue, direct to stereo tape and without additional editing or post-production processing… and now at last it’s available on vinyl!

STUDIO KONZERT is the audiophile Direct-To-2-Track fully analogue recorded concert series, produced by the Bauer Studios since early 2013 and available in shops as numbered and limited 180g vinyl records with a premium-quality packaging.
